In February 2021, I stayed at the Southernmost Beach Resort for a 4 night winter getaway. Southernmost has several different low-rise buildings with rooms including: street view, garden view and ocean view. The ocean view rooms with balconies have bay windows with seating to watch the sunsets. The resort fee includes breakfast and an alcoholic beverage daily, in their beach front restaurant. Covered and outside seating is available with amazing views.
The resort had everything you might need, the beach, dining, concierge services, bike rentals, afternoon entertainment like beer or wine tasting, yard games, an active pool and a quiet, secluded pool.
It is mandatory to wear a mask in Key West in all restaurants, stores, and public areas. Social distancing and capacity controls were maintained. Wearing a mask didn't take away from the pleasure of being on vacation.
The highlight of my trip was to be able to look out my window and see the ocean. I especially liked that you didn't need a car to get around. Just grab a taxi to get to your resort, only $9.00 per person to get to the Southernmost. You could walk to most places, ride a bike, rent a scooter or golf cart. The food was fresh & fabulous! 4pm-6pm happy hour offered great food & drink prices.
There's lots to do in Key West, or not, your choice. Things to do & see: Ernest Hemingway's House, President Truman's little White House, Lighthouse, Southernmost point photo op, Trolley tour of the island, butterfly museum, Wallburgers (for Blue Bloods fans)....and much more.
The perfect getaway. You can fly right into the Key West airport & be there with one change of planes from most airports. Also, no Covid testing for entry or return.
